Traditional Chinese Method {$200} This method of preparing the placenta for encapsulation involves steaming the placenta gently (with ginger and lemon and whole black peppercorn at your request). Putting these warming ingredients in the steaming process is thought to bring out the placenta’s natural healing properties. Lemon is thought of as an antiseptic and helps to distribute the placenta throughout the body. Black peppercorn and ginger are warming herbs and thought to lend their properties to the placenta. The ginger specifically acts as a facilitator for energy and good blood flow. TCM is believed to have slow releasing, healing, and warming properties. If your placenta has been frozen, this is usually the method of choice.

Raw Method {$200} This method of preparing the placenta for encapsulation skips the steaming process all together and is set for dehydration while still “raw.” It can be combined with TCM method, so you receive half raw and half TCM. Some people choose this method because they are raw food activists and believe the cooking or steaming process destroys some of the nutrients. Using the RAW method provides a burst of energy up front but does not often offer the longer benefits of TCM. Using TCM also converts some nutrients to be absorbed which would normally be discarded raw. This is also known as the "Higher Yield" method, as you get more pills with this method.
BUDGET Price {$150} This includes Placenta encapsulation without pick up or drop off. The family must arrange this prior to the birth.

Smoothie {$40} Utilizing the placenta, unsteamed, directly after birth is becoming an extremely popular and important step in a new mother’s postpartum healing. A small quarter sized piece of raw placenta is easily blended in with any juice or smoothie recipe. All the moms who choose this say they can't taste the placenta at all and love their smoothes! For all birth locations, this option is available for placentas released within 48 hours after birth. Seven pieces are individually prepared, wrapped, and stored for use. This preparation yields enough for 1 smoothie a day for the first week. This is a great natural remedy for postpartum bleeding, works very rapidly, and often replaces pharmaceutical means of managing bleeding. Other benefits include rapid replacement of hormones, nutrients, and iron which aids in post partum wellness. This is a great option for moms who hemorrhage postpartum. If you are having a home birth, I can prepare a smoothie for you when I pick up the placenta. If you birth at a South Bay hospital (LCOM Torrance, Torrance Memorial, or Kaiser South Bay/Harbor City) then I can deliver a smoothie to you within 24 hours after birth.
Broth {$15} Placenta broth is the liquid remaining from the steaming process in the TCM method. It is made with filtered water, lemon, black whole peppercorn, and ginger. After the steaming process is complete, the liquid is strained and put into a jar for consumption. It contains any nutrients lost during the steaming process and tastes like herbal tea. Reported benefits include an immediate energy burst, hormone balance, and feelings of well being. Mix it with your favorite lemon or ginger tea and enjoy this warm healing drink.
Organic Healing Salve {$35}
The placenta salve has many uses. It is used to heal Cesarean section incision after the wound is closed. It can lessen scarring, itching and discomfort. The salve can also be used as soon as 3 days postpartum for hemorrhoids, perennial tearing, burns, diaper rash, eczema, sun burns and skin irritations. It is safe for your baby as long as the baby has no skin allergies. I also offer non-placenta salve as well. In our house, my husband use it for his eczema, my 6 year old for bites and scrapes, my baby for diaper rash and dry skin patches, and myself for dry skin and scrapes!
Twins {$50} One time fee towards placenta services.
Flavored Capsules {$10} Current stock: Grape & Strawberry
Travel fee {$25-$75} may be applicable.

Tincture {$35 OR 2 for $50} The placenta tincture is another way to get the benefits from the placenta besides capsule form. Tinctures are mainly meant for energy, transition, stress, and hormone stabilization. They are great for returning menstrual cycles, going back to work, menopause, and even puberty. The biological mother and daughter of the birthing mom can also benefit from the tincture as it has an almost indefinite shelf life if stored properly. The tincture is made from a small piece of raw placenta and 100 proof vodka, aged for 6 weeks postpartum. After 6 weeks, is it able to be strained, using either cheese cloth, or the dropper provided. Many moms choose this when they get a smaller placenta, to ensure longer lasting placenta benefits. The dosage amount is small and can be added to coffee, tea, smoothie, juice, or straight under the tounge.
